At NALA, we believe the best moments happen outdoors, with long lunches with family, slow mornings with coffee, afternoons by the pool, and evenings shared with friends. Our mission is simple: to create beautiful outdoor products that help make those moments last longer.

The name NALA has always been close to my heart. It was a nickname for my daughter, Millie, a spirited little redhead whose determination, resilience and strength inspired me every day. Those qualities became the foundation of our brand: products that are beautiful, dependable and built to stand the test of time.

Although I now call New Zealand home, I grew up on a farm in the United States, where I learned from a young age that the things worth investing in are the ones built to last. On a farm, equipment isn't replaced because it looks worn, it earns its place by being reliable, strong and dependable year after year. That mindset has stayed with me throughout my life and is at the heart of everything we do at NALA.

Before taking over NALA, I spent eight years building and operating an events business, where quality outdoor equipment wasn't just important...it was essential. I experienced first-hand the unpredictable New Zealand weather and learned that a great umbrella needs to do far more than provide shade. It has to withstand strong winds, perform season after season and give people confidence that it's built for the conditions.

But I also discovered something else.

With the right furniture, thoughtful styling and beautiful umbrellas, an ordinary outdoor space can become somewhere people naturally want to gather. Whether it's a bustling café, a vineyard overlooking the vines, a luxury hotel, or a family backyard, thoughtful outdoor design has the power to bring people together and create moments that are remembered long after the day is over.

That belief is what drives NALA today.
