THE JOURNEY TO NALA
Welcome to NALA, where outdoor essentials are made to look good and stand up to anything life brings.
The name NALA has a special place in my family. It was a nickname for my daughter Millie when she was younger—a fierce little redhead who’s always had a spirit of resilience and strength. That same spirit inspired me to create umbrellas and beanbags that embody durability and style.
Our journey with umbrellas started out of a bit of an obsession. After years of sourcing and testing outdoor gear in the events world, I knew I wanted to share what I had created: umbrellas that not only looked good, but that could stand tall through the toughest conditions, with solid material poles, wide spans, and a wind rating that’s more than just talk.
After working with them for 6 years in other businesses, I visited Freddy and Susan, the makers behind our umbrellas, and got the chance to see their work firsthand. As luck would have it, I also met Freddy’s cousin Connie, who crafts incredible outdoor beanbags. It was the perfect match: cousin factories producing top-quality gear with a shared commitment to excellence.
And it’s truly a family effort. My dad, Andrew, who’s seen his fair share of good ideas, loved the concept so much he joined in as a partner. With his support in the background, NALA has come together as a brand that’s all about family, quality, and strength.
We can’t wait for you to experience these products—crafted with care and built to last.
